The UK-based R&B/neo-soul soulstress is taking the industry by storm with her new single ‘About You’. Phoenix Laoutaris is ethereal – and such vocals coupled with a cinematic visualiser are enough to put listeners in a trance. From a friendship which started strong, feeling like a sanctuary, yet didn’t make sense when one slipped through their defences, the single is inspired by an encounter which turned into hope for a chance of, perhaps, being together or something more.

Born and raised in Totnes, Devon, Phoenix initially went viral through her performance of an original song entitled ‘Flowers’ on a talent contest’s Instagram Live. This was a turning point, as the song – released through WEAREBLK  less than a year later in 2021 – became her debut single.

Here, the soulful songbird revives her signature sound, blending it with grit and a newfound desire to embrace a musical perspective that resonates with her.
