Thank you to The Academy for spicing up our Monday. Judging couture gowns and sexy suits from our living rooms in pyjamas while procrastinating our workload is good for the soul. And an even bigger thank you to these gorgeous stars (and their stylists) for blessing our eyes, on a Sunday evening no less. Not a single crumb was left on the red carpet of the 93rd Academy Awards.

Regina King in a queenly (not sorry for the pun), custom gown by Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton. The sky blue shade, gold embellishments and winged shoulders are whimsical and regal, a cross between modern Cinderella and a butterfly.

I wouldn’t be mad if Amanda Seyfried left me on ‘red’– especially if it came in this striking Armani Privé tulle gown.

Lakeith Stanfield’s Saint Laurent jumpsuit shows us he is in tune with the seventies spirit that’s now, affirmatively, back in style. One word: sexy.

Andra Day ate up Athena and many other Greek goddesses in this dazzling gold Vera Wang dress.

Carey Mulligan met Oscar attire expectations in this decadent, double-take-worthy Valentino gown. I’ll never get tired of seeing the Hollywood extravaganza we’re all so fond of deep down. Sequins and all.

Ladies and Gentlemen… H.E.R. The Oscar winner was adorned in a beaded blue Dundas ensemble inspired by Prince, who she calls “one of my favourite artists”. He wore a similar hooded look when accepting his Oscar for Purple Rain. Round glasses are clearly one of H.E.R.’s signature accessories, which she wore to the Grammy’s last month, and she insists are a key element of this piece as well.

Daniel Kaluuya looked effortlessly classic in this Bottega Veneta suit as he snagged his well-overdue Oscar for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah.

As usual, Zendaya stunned crowds and IG feeds alike in this canary yellow Valentino dress which makes me want to drink piña colada’s perched on a cliff in Bora Bora. Please, summer, hurry the hell up.

Halle Berry was nothing less than a violet vision in this strapless Dolce & Gabbana dream.

I don’t know about you but those strategic cutouts in Viola Davis’ custom Alexander McQueen are making me sweat. She looks as elegant and graceful as ever.

Gold was obviously a popular statement colour this season, with Leslie Odom Jr looking dapper in a Brioni suit which mirrors the Oscar statue itself. If you don’t win it, be it is a motto I’m going to start applying to my own life.

Rising Bulgarian starlet Maria Bakalova delivers Odette in Swan Lake realness in a Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière gown.
