Justin Cassin returned to London Fashion Week at St John’s Church Hyde Park, following last year’s successful show. He once again elevated the menswear game with modernist silhouettes that both reference and question classic tailoring. Pushing boundaries with monochromatic looks, crop tops, viscerally tactile fabrics, and a touch of floral, Cassin’s AW24 collection is a proponent of individual expression.
The models walked to Gorillaz’ “Feel Good Inc” and “Money Talks” remix, closing the show to Bruno Mars with an orchestrated walk to the front of the church, where the models stood proudly under the stained glass designs, a symbol of hope and strength.
Justin Cassin is sadly undergoing treatment for cancer in California, where he designed this collection from hospital. This was an emotional and meaningful show for everyone on his team and in the audience, and we could spot a tear gleaming in some of the models’ eyes as they stood proudly at the front, without the designer there to make his walk.
Cassin’s commitment to reducing his label’s footprint, from start to end of production and delivery, and his committment to diversity speaks loudly, standing out against many other menswear brands.
“I strive to promote personal style and confidence. Stay true to yourself, but always push the boundaries. It’s important to break away from tradition. It’s important to have fun. I want people to notice my designs but more importantly, notice the person wearing them.”
We are sending well wishes and congratulations to this groundbreaking designer, and are excited to see what comes next.
